Solutions needed for development

Breakthrough solutions were needed for comprehensive economic restructuring to achieve the Socio-economic Development Strategy for the 2011-20 period, delegations agreed at an online conference hosted by the National Assembly (NA) on April 27.
Breakthrough solutions were needed for comprehensive economicrestructuring to achieve the Socio-economic Development Strategy for the2011-20 period, delegations agreed at an online conference hosted bythe National Assembly (NA) on April 27.

Priorities willbe given to restructuring investment with a focus on public spending;restructuring the financial market, especially the banking system andfinancial organisations; and restructuring of all enterprises, with afocus on state-run companies.

Most deputies agreed on agroup of key solutions that were proposed by the NA Economic Committeewith a focus on making comprehensive programmes, strategies or planswith long and medium term measures for the perfection of the marketmechanism institution and macroeconomic stability; restructuring ofinvestment and financial markets, enterprises and agriculturalproduction methods; the strengthening of human resources quality andscience and technology development, and social and environmentalprotection measures.

Comprehensive economic restructuringwill help improve all aspects of the country's socio-economicdevelopment. However, breakthroughs are needed in every field," saidMinister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh.

Representatives of the Cao Bang NA delegation said that it is importantto evaluate the current situation of the country's socio-economy beforerestructuring. State enterprises should play a key role in economicdevelopment while the private sector should also ensure suitabledevelopment conditions.-VNA

World Economic Forum to co-brand Autumn Economic Forum 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam ships first commercial ASF vaccine order to Philippines

According to the Vietnam Customs data, bilateral trade hit 253.1 billion USD in the first nine months of this year, up 37.6% annually. Vietnam’s exports to China rose 32.9% to 65.8 billion USD while imports climbed 39.3% to 187.3 billion USD. China accounted for around 41.3% of Vietnam’s imports and 15.2% of its total exports.

Vietjet launches Prague–Hanoi route

Vietjet Air operates the Prague–Hanoi route twice a week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 377 passengers. Flights depart Prague at 8:55 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday and arrive in Hanoi at 4:20 p.m. the following day, local time. In the opposite direction, flights leave Hanoi at 8:25 a.m. and arrive in Prague at 6:55 p.m. The route includes a stop in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Vietnam – a potential regional supply hub for Jatropha seed oil

Japan’s research on non-edible oil feedstocks showed that Jatropha is highly drought-tolerant and could grow well on wasteland, eroded sandy land and infertile soil.
