Sri Lanka, Vietnam need to fight crimes together: Deputy PM

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked Sri Lanka to work closely with Vietnam to fight crimes, especially those involving e-commerce and credit, in accordance with their signed agreements.

ReceivingSecretary to the Sri Lankan Ministry of Law and Order NandaMallawaarachchi in Hanoi on July 21, Phuc asked for closer bilateralcollaboration to ensure security and safety for high-rankingdelegations, as well as for trade, investment, studies and tourismactivities in each country.

He thanked Sri Lanka for backingVietnam’s bid for a seat at the 2014-2016 United Nations (UN) HumanRights Council, the 2016 – 2018 UN Economic and Social Council and the2020 – 2022 UN Security Council.

The host suggested mutual support at regional and global forums for peace and stability in the region and the world.

Nanda Mallawaarachchi informed Phuc of the outcomes of his working session with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

He expressed his hope that the ties between the two ministries will go a long way for the sake of both nations.-VNA
