Hanoi (VNA) - Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on August 13 chaired a meeting of standing members of the sub-committee in charge of drafting documents for the 14th National Party Congress.
Participants contributed their ideas to the draft Political report prepared by the editorial team based on the detailed outline approved at the 9th meeting of the 13th Party Central Committee.
After listening to a report on the affairs of the standing members and the editorial team so far, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam hailed the team's performance and efforts to submit the Political report to the sub-committee.
He reminded the team to carefully study resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Party Central Committee's Secretariat as well as resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government, especially those that have been released in this tenure, as well as reality-driven policies and orientations to bring new and important orientations to the Political report.
The Political report of the 14th National Party Congress must be a product of intellectual heights which crystallises the collective brainpower of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army as directed by late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
It must also promote democracy and collective intelligence with the ideas contributed by central agencies, socio-political organisations, and the people, as well as collecting opinions from former leaders, intellectuals, researchers, and references from the results of scientific research at home and abroad, he stressed.
The leader underlined the need to seek effective policies and orientations in national construction and defence in the new period, and policies that match the rapidly changing reality.
He suggested organising conferences and scientific seminars to discuss several contents of the draft Political report.
Pointing out the heavy workload of the sub-committee, the leader requested members of the sub-committee, its standing members, and the editorial team to show stronger efforts and close coordination and cooperation with other sub-committees to complete all tasks on time with high quality./.
