The judiciary system has made great efforts in helping the government and the National Assembly make and complete the country’s law system over the past years.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet delivered the remark at a meeting with Ministry of Justice officials on judiciary reforms in Hanoi on April 8.

The Head of the State spoke highly of the organisation as well as the performance of the judiciary system from the central to local levels over the past years.

At the meeting, Triet shared the Ministry officials’ viewpoints on outstanding issues and drawbacks in the sector’s reforms that have resulted in the slow preparation of several documents and schemes, especially those prepared by ministries and inter-ministries.

In spite of acknowledging an improved quality in the sector’s staff, Triet concluded that the judiciary staff have still not met with the current requirements and pointed out weaknesses in local judiciary agencies.

The State leader urged the Ministry to actively help the government and the National Assembly build and complete the country’s legal system and to continue to educate the public on substance of the new laws.

On this occasion, Triet reminded the Ministry officials to pay attention to training staff and strengthening its organisation to fulfil the tasks the state assigns./.
