Storm and torrential rains have left three dead, four injured and 13 missing in central and Central Highland provinces, the National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control said on September 20.

The deaths were in Quang Tri province in the central region and Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands.
 
The disasters also pulled down and damaged nearly 5,000 houses, and submerged nearly 2,500 hectares of rice and over 3,500 hectares of other food crops.

Meanwhile, the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said that super typhoon Usagi is moving away from the Philippines towards the East Sea and will reach the region soon.

The typhoon is forecast to cause strong southwest winds and widespread rains in southern provinces.-VNA
