Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is willing to offer Sudanese military officers admission to its National Military Academy, Ltd. Gen. Pham Hong Huong said on July 11.

Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army made the statement during a reception for a Sudan’s military delegation, led by Major General Muatasim Ahmed, in Hanoi.

The delegation’s visit was part of its training programme in several countries, including Vietnam.

At the meeting, Huong gave the delegation updates on Vietnam’s external affairs and military policies.

Vietnam and Sudan have maintained good relations but their ties in defence have yet to match potentials, he said, suggesting enhancing cooperation through exchange visits of military delegations and army medical corps.

Maj. Gen. Admed, for his part, said the visit provides his delegation an opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s people and landscapes as well as the development of the Vietnam People’s Army.

He hoped that the two nations will strengthen their bilateral ties in multiple fields, including defence.-VNA
