A technology and equipment fair and a fest for innovative startups in the Mekong Delta (Techmart-Techfest Mekong 2019) opened in Can Tho city on October 22, bringing together nearly 200 participants.

CanTho (VNA) –
A technology and equipment fair and a fest for innovativestartups in the Mekong Delta (Techmart-Techfest Mekong 2019) opened in Can Thocity on October 22, bringing together nearly 200 participants.

With 250 booths, the participating institutes, schools, organisations andbusinesses introduced 800 research projects, focusing on food and seafoodprocessing, and the production of bio products and by-products in service ofrice and seafood export.

Products of more than 30 individuals and innovative startups in Can Tho andother Mekong Delta localities were also displayed on this occasion.
 
Besides, the event included matchmaking sessions between investors and startupprojects, and workshops where entrepreneurs shared their success and failurestories.

In his opening remarks, Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science andTechnology, said Techmart-Techfest Mekong 2019 creates an environment to linkscience and technology with production and business, and step up technologicaltransfer and scientific application in production and daily life. 

It also aims to help businesses renew technologies, equipment and productionmethods, improve their competitiveness, promote their products and expand themarket, he said.

Techmart-Techfest Mekong 2019 is one of a series of similar events to be heldin the southeastern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, the Central Highlands provinceof Lam Dong, and Hanoi in the north. It is also an opener for the nationalinnovative startup festival in Ha Long city, the northern province of QuangNinh, on December 3-6, according to the official./.
