Tay Ninh (VNA) – The southern province of Tay Ninh recently put into use 10 bridges after one year of construction, facilitating the travel of people in rural, remote and mountainous areas.

The bridges were built in the six districts of Tan Bien, Tan Chau, Chau Thanh, Duong Minh Chau, Go Dau, and Hoa Thanh at the total cost of 15 billion VND (646,600 USD).

These are among the 28 bridges constructed in the province with a total capital of 56.04 billion VND (2.42 million USD), sourced from the Local Bridge Construction and Road Asset Management (LRAMP) project for the 2016-2021 period, which was approved by the government and the Ministry of Transport.

According to Do Hoang Chuong, director of the province’s management board for investment projects and construction, 18 remaining bridges in the project will be built in the locality in 2019.

The LRAMP project has total funds of nearly 409 million USD in loans from the World Bank.

Under the project, 2,000 bridges are being built in 50 provinces and cities across the nation from 2016-2020. –VNA
