Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said on June 25 that a general election will be held between February 24 and May 5, 2019.

The government will lift a ban on some political activity by parties between September and December this year. But a ban on campaigning will remain during that period, the Deputy PM said.

On June 19, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said the election will be held after King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s coronation. However, no date has yet been set.
