Thai Friendship Association’s work lauded

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on September 12 praised the contributions of the Vietnam-Thailand and Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Associations in nurturing the intimate ties between the two countries over the past time.

During a meeting with Chairmanof the Thailand-Vietnam Association Prachuab Chaiyasan in Hanoi ,the Deputy PM expressed his delight at the developing relations betweenThailand and Vietnam .

The upgrading ofbilateral ties to a strategic partnership in June this year marked amilestone in the history of the two countries’ relations, he said,adding that Vietnam and Thailand are the first two members ofASEAN to establish a strategic partnership.

According to Deputy PM Hai, over the past years, the Thailand-VietnamFriendship Association has organised numerous activities to connect thetwo countries’ people.

He thanked the friendshipsociety for its support to the Vietnamese community in Thailand , andexpressed his belief that it will, together with the Vietnamese side,work more effectively to strengthen the traditional friendship andmultifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

The association’s chairman briefed Deputy PM Hai on the activities ofhis delegation in Vietnam over the past few days.

The two sides agreed to enhance activities to mark the 40thanniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Thailand.

Chaiyasan expressed his belief that the two friendship associationswill play a key role in fostering Vietnam-Thailand relations in the timeto come.-VNA

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
