Thai, Lao students at Vinh University celebrate traditional New Year

This is the 12th year theuniversity has organised an event for Thai and Lao students, designed tohelp them have warm and happy New Year celebrations and contribute totightening the friendship among Vietnam, Thailand and Laos.

At the event, Vietnamese students joined Lao and Thai friends inritual activities like water splashing and the baci ceremony wherestrings are tied around people’s wrists to wish them good luck andprosperity for the New Year.

As many as 450 Thai and Lao students are currently studying at the Vinh University.

Thailand’s Songkran festival takes place annually from April 13-15, while Laos’ Bun Pi May is held from April 14-16.-VNA

The new central city square and administrative centre will create a modern, centralised political-administrative complex for Ho Chi Minh City, designed to house around 8,000 officials, civil servants, and employees. According to the plan, all buses operating within Ring Road 1 will use green energy by July 1, 2026. The requirement will expand to Ring Road 2 by January 1, 2028, and to Ring Road 3 by 2030.

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1

Under the dicision, ministries and ministerial-level agencies will assume responsibility for tasks previously performed by the committee, in line with their mandates under the Law on Government Organisation, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, the Law on Roads and other relevant legal frameworks, ensuring that traffic safety and order are maintained without disrupiton.
