Thai Nguyen urged to tap potentials for sustainable development

The Party leader, Nong Duc Manh, who was accompanied by the ThaiNguyen National Assembly deputies, made the statement while meeting withofficials, Party members and voters of Phu Luong district in ThaiNguyen province on April 28.

Manh highlighted Thai Nguyen’s socio-economic development efforts,contributing to the nation’s overall development.

He that proposed the local people implement State and Party policiesto successfully fulfil all socio-economic targets set out by the 10thNational Party Congress’s Resolution.

The Party chief also asked Thai Nguyen to well-exploit its humanresources, as the province is home to the country’s big universitytraining centre.

Phu Luong district should bring into play its internal strengths, hesaid, adding that the district needs to focus on environmentalprotection while effectively tapping mineral resources.

While meeting with voters of eastern mountain Tuc Tranh commune ofPhu Luong district, Party General Secretary Manh suggested Phu Luongdistrict select Tuc Tranh as a new rural construction model.

Tuc Tranh must consider its traditional craft of tea-making as anadvantage and should take measures to make it more sophisticated, thuselevating the reputation of Thai Nguyen tea on the market.

Apart from zoning off tea growing regions, he said that Tuc Tranhneeds to invest more in science and technology to improve the quality ofits tea as well as output, turning Tuc Tranh into the ‘tea basket’ ofthe province and the entire country.

At these meetings, the Thai Nguyen NA deputies’ delegation reportedon the tentative agenda of the 12th NA legislature’s seventh session.

Voters proposed that the delegation pay attention to building a newrural area and increasing investment in disadvantaged regions as well aspolicies on finance and credit and to attract technical and farmpromotion cadres to work in the province./.
