Thai jasmine and organic jasmine rice will be on sale to tourists at airports around the country in this month as part of a government plan to promote the famed Thai rice around the world.

The International Trade Promotion Department under the Commercial Ministry and Airports of Thailand is joining hands to promote the sale of rice, which will be available in the souvenir shopping areas in airports, according to the project.

Rice will initially be traded at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, and Chiang Mai airports. Each small pack, weighing 1 kilo or 2 kilo, will be printed with the words "Gift from Thailand".

The ministry also plans to seek cooperation from other travel agencies to sell Thai rice at tourist destinations.-VNA
