Thai Son Nam wins second place at AFC Futsal Club Championship

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Thai Son Nam lost 2-4 to Mes SungunVarzaghan of Iran at the final match of the 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championshipin Indonesia on August 12.

Vietnam scored the opening goal in the 5th minute; however, MesSungun Varzaghan claimed an equaliser just five minutes later.

The Iranian football club then increased the score to 2-1 after a smoothcoordination in a corner kick in the 12th minute. Thanks to anamazing long shot, Tran Van Vu from Thai Son Nam beat the Iranian goal-keeperand gained one more score for the Vietnamese side.

In the second half, the Iranian team continued good performance, and despiteVietnam’s best efforts, Mes Sungun Varzaghan scored two more goals to clinchvictory.

The AFCFutsal Club Championship 2018 took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from August1-12 with the participation of 16 clubs. They competed in four groups.
 
Although the Vietnamese team cannot earn the championship title, they wereexcellent when beating strong  Asianfutsal teams, including Al-Dhafra (the UAE), Naft Al-wassat (Iraq), Jeonju MAG(the Republic of Korea), Nagoya Oceans (Japan), and Bank of Beirut (Lebanon).-VNA
