Thailand and Cambodia have signed a bilateral agreement on the transfer of convicted persons and cooperation in the enforcement of penal sentences during the 6th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in Bangkok.

The two-day meeting, which began on Aug. 5, will focus on bilateral cooperation in politics, security, economics, society, science and technology and also cooperation in other multilateral frameworks including the ASEAN.

The Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia has provided a mechanism responsible for supervising and overlooking the overall bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong were present at the meeting.

Before flying to Thailand , Cambodian Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong said the visit was to strengthen the two countries’ relationship and discuss border issues, especially around the disputed Preah Vihear temple./.
