Thailand extends internal security act

for seven more days to April 6.
The ISA was imposed from March 23-30 for Bangkok and its surrounding provinces of Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan.
Under the new decision, the ISA will continue to be imposed for the whole area of Bangkok , two districts in Nonthaburi and five other districts in Samut Prakan.
Also on March 30, the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), known as the ‘red shirts,’ rejected Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s proposal for a negotiation on April 1.
PM Abhisit and UDD leaders failed to reach results after two talks starting on March 28. The red shirts persisted in demanding that the PM disband the Lower House within 15 days and described it as the sole solution for the current crisis in Thailand./.
