Rescuers are deployed to assist flood-hit residents in Phetchabun province of Thailand on September 27 (Photo: Bangkok Post/VNA) Bangkok (VNA) – Tropical Storm Dianmu has caused widespread flooding in 30 provinces in central, northernand northeastern Thailand, affecting more than 70,000 households, the country’sDisaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said.
The flooding situation in seven provinces hasimproved, but remained severe in the other 23 provinces, the DDPM noted.
At least six people lost their lives and two others went missing in the floods.
Heavy rainfall is forecast to continue in thenorthern, central and northeastern regions of Thailand in the comingthree days.
The DDPM said it will keep monitoring thesituation, and urged local authorities to guard against possible landslides orother disasters./.
