Thirteen countries take part in international jet search

Malaysian acting Minister of Transport Hishamuddin Hussein said on March 14 that a total 57 ships and 48 aircraft from 13 countries were currently deployed to search for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.

He told a press conference near Kuala LumpurInternational Airport (KLIA) that Malaysia was expanding the alreadyvast scope of its search for the missing passenger plane and closelycoordinating with involved countries to locate the jetliner, accordingto news agencies.

Meanwhile, China on March 14 urgedMalaysia to take the lead in coordinating the international search thatwas pushed further towards Indian Ocean.

The search for the missing plane has been expanded to sites very far from where it lost radar contact in the East Sea .

Vietnam continued its hunt on March 14, with three AN 26 planes, oneCASA aircraft and seven vessels, but no solid clues had been found yet.

Flight MH370, a Boeing 777-200, went missing on early March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing .

The plane was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members.-VNA
