At the launching ceremony of the Lao and Khmer language electronic versions of the Thoi Dai (Vietnam Times) newspaper of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Thoi Dai (Vietnam Times) newspaper of theVietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) on June 14 launched its Laoand Khmer language electronic versions.
The Lao version can be read at huunghivietlao.thoidai.com.vn, and theKhmer version at huunghivietnamcampuchia.thoidai.com.vn.
Addressing the launch ceremony, VUFO Vice President Bui Khac Son saidthe two new electronic versions will be effective tools to connect Vietnam andLao and Cambodian friends.
The Lao and Khmer versions will cover external and friendship activitiesof officials, localities, agencies and socio-political organisations ofVietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The newspaper also reports on the situation acrossthe fields in the countries, while serving as a forum to promote people’sdiplomacy, thus contributing to the friendship among the countries and peaceand friendship in the region.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Thoi Dai newspaper Luong Chi Conghighlighted that Vietnam has always given the highest priority to thetraditional friendship with Laos and Cambodia in the past struggle for nationalliberation and the current national construction and defence.
Amidst complicated changes in regional and global situation, quality andfriendly communication products are needed to cement the ties among countries,especially with those sharing the border with Vietnam, he said, adding thatwith the launch of the Lao and Khmer version, the newspaper also wants to helppreserve and develop the close bonds between Vietnam and the neighbouringcountries.-VNA
