The People’s Court of the northern province of Bac Ninh on July 4 sentenced three members of a drug trafficking ring to death.
Loc Van Tai (32), Hoang Van Thich (26) and Luong Van Thong (41) were sentenced to death following a two-day trial. Two other members of the ring, Luong Hai Trang (52) and Hoang Van Phong (22), received life sentences.
According to the indictment, the accused, who have kindred with each other, together formed a drug transport and trafficking ring.
On May 10 and 15, 2011, they trafficked six packets of heroin with an average weight of 340.28 grams each. On May 24, Luong Van Thong was caught red-handed transporting 10 packets of heroin, weighing over 3.4 kg in total, to the northern province of Lang Son to sell it to Loc Van Tai.-VNA
