Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on December 19 stressed the need to step up dissemination to create consensus and unity in the process of rearranging and streamlining public employee positions.

Addressing a conference to review coordination work between the Party Delegation to the NA and the Party Committee of the NA Office, Man highlighted the importance of the training work, and ensuring that the policies and benefits for officials, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers are implemented in accordance with regulations.

He urged more efforts to complete the review of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, adopted by the 12th Party Central Committee in 2017, on continuing to restructure and streamline the political system for greater efficiency; as well as the amendment and supplementation of laws and resolutions related to restructuring and streamlining the apparatus. These should be reported to the NA Standing Committee and then the National Assembly for consideration and decision.

Additionally, efforts should be made to finalise the restructuring and streamlining of the legislature’s committees, the NA Standing Committee’s agencies, as well as the departments, units, and organisations directly under the NA Office, ensuring the progress and plans set by the Party Central Government.

Regarding the orientations and tasks for 2025, the top legislator suggested continuing to make strong reforms in law-making, supervision, and decision-making on important national issues; and strengthen coordination with the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Government, the Party Central Committee’s Office, and relevant agencies.

Man emphasised the need to continue building a strong contingent of officials who have a high sense of responsibility, dare to think, dare to act and dare to take responsibility, with an innovative mindset in their work. Based on this, efforts should be made to reform the processes of evaluation, selection, recruitment, and appointment of officials. And the application of information technology in the operations of the National Assembly should be stepped up, he added./.
