A serious traffic accident happened between a south-bound passenger train and an articulated lorry on the night of March 10, killing one and injuring four others. The force of the collision caused the driver’s cab separated from the rest and killed the driver then. Three carriages also derailed and left two train staff members and two passengers injured. The accident occurred at 10 p.m. in Hai Thuong commune, Hai Lang district in the central province of Quang Tri when the train SE5, carrying 600 passengers from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, struck the lorry trying to cross the railway. Railway authorities are currently working with Quang Tri authorities to figure out the cause of the accident as well as restoring the flow of traffic on national road 1A, which was blocked by a derailed carriage.-VNA
