A Trang An Festival took place at the Trang An scenic complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh on April 21.

The festival is annually held on the 18th day of the third Lunar month to celebrate Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King.

It is an occasion for locals to pray for peace, happiness and bumper harvests.

Located about 90km south of Hà Nội, Ninh Bình is known as “Hạ Long Bay on Land”, given its limestone mountains rising out of paddy fields.

The most famous local attraction is the Tràng An Landscape Complex, which has been expanded over recent years and gained popularity for its green fields, mountains, caves and forests.

The Trang An scenic complex was recognised as a world Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO. - VNA
