Tuy Hoa civil aviation zone set for take-off

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam inaugurated a large new civil aviation zone at Tuy Hoa Airport in the central province of Phu Yen on September 8.
The Airports Corporation of Vietnam inaugurated a large new civil aviation zone at Tuy Hoa Airport in the central province of Phu Yen on September 8.

Work began on the 400 billion VND (19 million USD) project in February 2012. The zone includes an aircraft bay that stretches over 30,000 square metres and can house three A321 planes.

Meanwhile, a 4,000-square-metre terminal has been added and is capable of serving 300 passengers per hour during peak time. It is designed to comfortably welcome 550,000 passengers per year.

Tuy Hoa Airport, 5 km south of Phu Yen downtown, is expected to receive 70,000 passengers in 2013, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.-VNA
