Two Koreas’ officials met on Jan. 19 at the Kaesong joint industrial complex to discuss ways to promote operations there.

During the two-day meeting, the two sides are expected to review their joint industrial field trips to China and Vietnam last month, according to the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Ministry of Unification.

Head of the RoK delegation Kim Young-tak said that the meeting would create conditions for frank discussion on stable development of the joint industrial complex.

The Kaesong industrial complex, in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s border town of same name, is a key symbol for cooperation between the two Koreas . About 110 RoK companies are operating in the complex, employing about 42,000 DPRK workers./.
