US embassy helps disabled people with community integration

The US embassy on July 25 donated 40,000 USD to the Hold the Future Centre to aid its operations assisting people with disabilities better integrate into the community.
The US embassy on July 25 donated 40,000 USD to the Hold the FutureCentre to aid its operations assisting people with disabilities betterintegrate into the community.

Addressing the donationceremony in Hanoi, Ngo Dinh Quynh, a representative from the US embassyin Vietnam emphasised that through the project, the Centre will helppeople with disabilities overcome difficulties and reap success in theirdaily lives.

The project aims to help disabledyoungsters better integrate and more confidently communicate withmembers of the community as well as raise public awareness about theobstacles disabled and invalid youngsters face in their daily lives.

It will include a series of events, training courses on making handicrafts for sale, and art performances.

Le Minh Hien, the Centre’s director said that since its establishmentin 2002, the Centre has aimed to provide youngsters with disabilitieswith vocational training and necessary life skills.-VNA
