The Ho Chi Minh City International University (HIU) signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Houston (UH) on May 24 in Houston city, Texas state.

Under the agreement, students of business administration major who finish their first two academic years at HIU will transfer to UH to complete their course within the next two years.

According to Ho Thanh Phong, Rector of the HIU, this agreement is part of the university’s strategy to expand the partnership with international schools to access the advanced training programme in the world and improve their education quality.

UH, the leading public university in research in US, was founded in 1927. It has 413 professors, 300 associate professors and 36,000 students with 12 faculties and a system of 40 research centres.

HIU is the first public university in Vietnam which uses English as the only language in teaching and studies. Besides the UH, the university has established 7 partnership programmes with some prestigious universities in the world, including Rutgers University, Binghamton University (US), University of Nottingham and University of West of England (UK), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), University of New South Wales (Australia) and Asian Technological Institute (Thailand)./.
