Various drug trafficking cases discovered

Hanoi (VNA) – The police of Mong Cai city, the northern province of Quang Ninh, onDecember 24 issued an arrest warrant for Ngo Manh Tuong, born in 1986 and registeredto reside in Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province, for allegedly transporting1.5kg of drug illegally.

Earlier on December22, Tuong, who is now living in Guangxi province of China, was caught with twobags of drug weighing 1.5kg at Ba Mien hotel in Ka Long ward of Mong Cai city.

Tuong then admittedthat he bought the drug from China to sell in Vietnam.

On December 23, thepolice of the northern province of Yen Bai discovered the largest drugtrafficking case record in the province.

Giang A Dua, born in 1979 from Thung Man village, Hang Kia commune, Mai Chaudistrict of Hoa Binh, was arrested for illegally transporting 387 amphetamine tablets.

Dua said that he washired to transport the drug for 60 million VND by Mua Thi Sao, also known asMua Y Chu, another villager of Thung Man village. Mua Y Sao was then arrestedand admitted her guilty.

Meanwhile, thenorthern province of Dien Bien broke a drug trafficking ring by arresting threeillegal drug transporters and seizing nearly 30kg of drug and 60,000 tablets ofcrystal meth weighing 5.5kg.

At the same time,traffic police of the central province of Quang Binh stopped a suspectedmotorbike running in the north-south direction for inspection. However, thedriver sped up to escape, forcing the police to chase for more than 500m.

The driver, Pham VanKien, born in 1983 and residing in Vo Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district ofQuang Binh, was carrying 605 tablets of amphetamine. He confessed that he wastransporting the drug for selling. Kien then was handed over to the police inQuang Ninh district for further investigation.-VNA

As of July 9, 8,526 houses had been newly built or repaired, including 6,626 new constructions and 1,900 repairs, achieving 89.5% of the target. Banking sector donates 3.1 million USD to housing programme

Since April 2024, the banking sector has committed a total of 1.36 trillion VND to the programme. Of this amount, 1.1 trillion VND has already been disbursed, while the remaining funds will be released following the issuance of allocation guidelines by the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs (180 billion VND) and the submission of complete documents by localities (85 billion VND).

Can Tho reports no fishing violations in foreign waters for three years

Can Tho city is now home to 795 registered fishing vessels with a combined capacity of 209,648 horsepower. Among those, 346 vessels measure 15 metres or longer, requiring the installation of monitoring systems, and 28 vessels provide logistical support services to the fishing industry.
