Nghe An (VNA) - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien on December 11 extended best wishes to priests, dignitaries and the Catholic community in Nghe An province’s Vinh diocese ahead of the Christmas Festive Season. He informed participants about the country’s socio-economic situation and praised active contributions of Catholics nationwide and those in Nghe An province to the success of the country’s big events, and socio-economic achievements.
The VFF leader urged them to continue joining pandemic control efforts and support the VFF’s movement to achieve the nation’s socio-economic development targets.
Bishop Alphonse Nguyen Huu Long affirmed that the Vinh Diocese will actively take part in patriotic emulation movements and campaigned launched by the VFF, and contribute more to the nation building and safeguarding cause.
Vinh Diocese comprises nearly 51,000 households with over 290,000 Catholics, accounting for 9 percent of Nghe An’s population./.
