Nghe An (VNA) - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)Central Committee Do Van Chien on December 11 extended best wishes to priests,dignitaries and the Catholic community in Nghe An province’s Vinh diocese aheadof the Christmas Festive Season.

He informed participants about the country’s socio-economic situation andpraised active contributions of Catholics nationwide and those in Nghe Anprovince to the success of the country’s big events, and socio-economicachievements.

The VFF leader urged them to continue joining pandemiccontrol efforts and support the VFF’s movement to achieve the nation’s socio-economicdevelopment targets.

Bishop Alphonse Nguyen Huu Long affirmed that the VinhDiocese will actively take part in patriotic emulation movements and campaignedlaunched by the VFF, and contribute more to the nation building andsafeguarding cause.

Vinh Diocese comprises nearly 51,000 households with over290,000 Catholics, accounting for 9 percent of Nghe An’s population./.

The two gold medallists are Tran Trung Kien, a 12th grader from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, who scored 169.25 points, and Nguyen Ngo Duc, a 12th grader from the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province, who scored 151.05 points.
