Archbishop Paul Bui Van Doc (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - President of the VietnamFatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man on March 13 sent aletter of condolences to Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese Joseph Nguyen Chi Linh, who is also President of the Catholic Bishops’Conference of Vietnam and Bishop of Thanh Hoa Diocese over the recent passingof Archbishop Paul Bui Van Doc.
The letter was alsoconveyed to the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City.
In his letter, Man wrote that Bui Van Doc, whowas Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese,former President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam, andChairman of the conference’s Committee on the Doctrine of the Faith passed awayat 22:15 on March 6 (Rome time), or at 4:15 on March 7 (Vietnam time).
He expressed his most profound condolences tothe Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam, bishops, priests, members of theVietnam Catholic Church, the Archdiocese ofHo Chi Minh City, Saint Joseph Seminary, and relatives of Paul Bui VanDoc.
Man lauded the deceased Archbishop for hisdedication to the Vietnam Catholic Church, the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City and Catholicfollowers.
He said Paul Bui VanDoc actively fostered the great national unity and the patriotic emulationcampaigns of Catholic followers in general and the Archdiocese of Ho Chi MinhCity in particular in the spirit of the Pastoral Letter of the CatholicBishops’ Conference of Vietnam, the message of the 2010 Congress of the VietnamCatholic Church and teachings of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis.
The VFF Central Committee wished that the Catholic Bishops’Conference of Vietnam, dignitaries, priests and Catholic followers wouldcontinue upholding Paul Nguyen Van Doc’s good example and caring for the poorin service of the nation. -VNA
