Hanoi (VNA) – Duong Thuy Vi brought home a silver and a bronze medal from the ongoing World Wushu Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Southeast Asian Games gold medallist Vi took her silver in the women's qiangshu (spear) event, while Lai Xiao Xiao of China won the gold and the bronze went to Honda Ayaka of Japan.
Earlier, Vi bagged a bronze in the women's changquan (long fist). The gold and silver medals went to Geng Xiaoling and Liu Xuxu of Hong Kong.
The five-day event drew the participation of 904 athletes and officials from 73 delegations.
It is the official world championships hosted by the International Wushu Federation.
It takes place biennially and features the highest competitive level within the sport. It will finish on November 18.-VNA
