The Vice President will later attend the 21 st Global Summit of Women, in Istanbul from May 5-7 at the invitation of President of the Global Summit of Women Irene Natividad.

Doan’s visit to South Africa , made at the invitation of South African Vice President Kgalema Motlanthe, aims to discuss measures to bolster multifaceted cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in trade, science-technology, education and training and transport.

Vietnam ’s attendance at the Global Summit of Women affirms the Vietnamese Party and State’s policy to attach importance to women’s progress.

The summit offers Vietnam an opportunity to introduce the country’s policies as well as achievements recorded in fulfilling the Millennium Development Goals on gender equality, increasing relations with female leaders worldwide, seeking cooperation partners for women’s development and contributing to promoting Vietnamese women’s status in world forums./.
