Video contest promoting Vietnamese culture draws public attention

Nearly 12,000 video entries featuring Vietnamese cultural values were sent to the “Vietnamese quintessence” contest within eight weeks since it was launched in November 2023 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, attracting nearly 36 million views.

Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 12,000 video entries featuring Vietnamese culturalvalues were sent to the “Vietnamese quintessence” contest within eight weeks sinceit was launched in November 2023 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth UnionCentral Committee, attracting nearly 36 million views.

Contestants posted their video clips, short visual reports or short films about Vietnamese cultureand traditional identity on TikTok and sent the TikTok link to the organiser's website: http://tinhhoavietnam.doanthanhnien.vn/.

Accordingto the contest organiser, as of January 30, the contest had also received nearly 680,000 votes ondigital platforms. Contestants from the provinces of Quang Binh, Phu Yen, QuangNam and Binh Dinh sent the largest number of entries.

It’sexpected that the contest winners will be announced at the closing and awardingceremony in March.

Thecontest is part of the youth union’s action plan to implement the national targetprogramme on revitalising and developing culture and building the Vietnamesepeople and another communication project on Vietnam's ethnicity and religion. 

Itis open for individuals and groups who are pupils and students athigh schools, vocational schools, universities, academies, colleges in Vietnamand abroad./.
