Moscow (VNA) – Vietnam has become a natural partnerof Russia in its look-east policy for various reasons, said Ivan Timofeev, Directorof Programmes at the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), in aninterview with the Vietnam News Agency on October 9.
The expert said one of those reasons is that the twocountries share a history of sound traditional partnership.
Vietnam is a big and dynamic economy with a wide market and abundanthuman resources, he added, noting that Vietnamese people are organised andcreative.
Timofeev said Vietnam has a bright future for both economicand technological development, creating an extensive room for its cooperationwith Russia and with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The Vietnam – Russia partnership also sees great potentialfor mutual investment in the fields of military technology, energy, and oil& gas exploitation, he said.
He stressed his belief that Vietnam will effectivelyimplement a balanced and independent multilateral policy amid the currentglobal complexities.
Talking about the role of the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN), including Vietnam, Timofeev quoted President Vladimir Putin assaying the bloc is an important factor with a central role in Asia-Pacific./.
