Representatives from nearly ten Vietnamese businesses were amongst the 10,000 participants representing 400 firms from 35 different countries in the 7th Build Eco Xpo (BEX ASIA) taking place in Singapore from September 1-3.
The expo, a leading business forum for construction material suppliers, construction companies, architects and designers in the region, showcases the latest in environmentally friendly materials and green building technology.
According to the organising board, more than 200 business meetings are scheduled during the three-day event along with seminars and conferences on eco-construction, technical solutions and advanced construction technologies.
Louise Chua, BEX Asia project director, welcomed Vietnamese businesses to the event and expressed her hope that the participating firms actively engage in the dialogues on eco-construction trends and take ideas home from the expo that can be applied in Vietnam.
Nguyen Viet Chi, Trade Counsellor to Singapore, said construction materials, particularly floating glass and sandstone, are key products exported to Singapore from Vietnam.
The event offers an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to find cooperation partners and expand their exports, in addition to learning about the latest technologies in the industry.
In the first seven months of the year, Vietnam generated approximately USD 200 million USD in revenue from exporting construction materials, Chi said.
Many Singaporean companies attending the event also expressed a keen interest in the Vietnamese real estate sector, Chi said.-VNA
