Vietnam, Belgium boost higher education cooperation

Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan has met with representatives from 11 Flemish universities, who expressed their wish to further tertiary education cooperation with Vietnam.

Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan has met withrepresentatives from 11 Flemish universities, who expressed their wishto further tertiary education cooperation with Vietnam.

Themeeting took place on the sidelines of the second Global Partnership forEducation (GPE) Replenishment Pledging Conference in Brussels on June25-28.

Secretary General at Ministry of Education andTraining of the Flemish community Micheline Scheys said Flanders willsign a cooperation agreement with Vietnam in exchanging lecturers andstudents.

Both sides will mutually recognise degrees andcertificates, as well as increase coordination in MA and doctoratetraining, she added.

Belgium annually grants scholarships forabout 30 Vietnamese students, said Director of the Wallonia-BrusselsInternational (WBI) Cooperation Agency Philippe Suinen.-VNA

Japanese-funded bomb, mine clearance equipment project launched
