Hanoi (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen had a meeting with a delegation of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association (VCFA) under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations in Hanoi on December 7.

The Cambodian PM had a working visit to Vietnam from December 6-8.

At the meeting, Chairman of the VCFA Vu Mao briefed his guest on the association’s activities over the years.

He noted that the VCFA’s chapters have worked to promote the implementation of friendship and cooperation activities between the two countries, especially a friendship programme, which has devised various measures to support disadvantaged Cambodian students who are studying in Vietnam.

The VCFA has closely joined hands with the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association in boosting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, he added.

For his part, Cambodian PM Hun Sen thanked the support of the VCFA for Cambodian students in Vietnam.

He said that the sentiment of Vietnamese people is a source of encouragement for the young Cambodian generation, and activities like the friendship programme have contributed to promoting the bilateral friendship in the coming time. -VNA
