Vietnam, Cambodia’s military officials discuss cooperation

Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army, held a talk with visiting Cambodian Minister of State General Nieng Phat in Hanoi on September 14.

At the meeting, the two generals exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest and reviewed the outcomes of military cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia since 2014 in various fields, including staff training, security protection and the search for remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Cambodia during wars.

Both sides also discussed cooperation plans for the second half of 2015 and beyond.

Later the same day, the Cambodian general was received by Minister of Defence General Phung Quang Thanh, who highlighted that the visit was a good opportunity for the two armies to strengthen their ties towards comprehensive and sustainable cooperation.

For his part, General Nieng Phat expressed his hope to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral collaboration in all fields for the benefit of global and regional peace and stability.

General Nieng Phat is paying an official visit to Vietnam through September 17 at the invitation of Senior Lieutenant General Lich.-VNA

NA endorses 10% preferential tax rate for all press agencies

The visit also showed that Vietnam wants to further strengthen political trust between the two countries, identify orientations to bring the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia to new heights, strengthen the cooperative relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and major political parties in Russia.
