The latest victim was a37-year-old man from the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien ,said representatives of the Preventive Medicine and Environmentdepartment of the Health Ministry.
He was admitted to the provincial General Hospital on Jan. 22 withsigns of coughing, severe pneumonia and breathing difficulties. Hetested positive for the potentially lethal A/H1N1 virus and died onFeb. 4.
By Feb. 10, the country detected a total of 11,186 A/H1N1 patients.
The Health Ministry warned of a highly potential spread of the deadlydisease in the community as a large number of people will travelthrough the country during the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival (Tet),which will begin on Feb. 14.
The ministry recommended the people to actively prevent the epidemic by ensuring both personal and environmental hygiene./.
