Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will continue contributing to realising the three key objectives of the StrategicFramework on Francophone Community Cooperation for the 2023-2030 period, said DeputyForeign Minister Do Hung Viet.  

Addressinga ceremony to celebrate the International Francophone Day held by the Ministryof Foreign Affairs and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) on March20 in Hanoi, Viet affirmed that as a responsible member of the Francophonecommunity, Vietnam has been and will continue to actively engage in the cooperationmechanism’s development.

Inher speech, Nguyen Thuy Anh, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee ofSocial Affairs, who is also Chairwomanof the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophone (APF)'s Vietnam Sub-Committee, highlighted contributions by the Vietnamese NA to the APF’s activities over the past six decades, sayingthat it always strives to promote Francophonecooperation in the areas of education, training, youth, law, and gender equality.

EdgarDoerig, RegionalRepresentative for Asia - Pacific of OIF, expressed his joy at the activeparticipation by Vietnamese agencies, sectors, and stakeholders in Francophonecooperation efforts aimed at strengthening the French language and the valuesthat the Francophone community shares, including solidarity, respect fordiversity, and tolerance.

During its 30 years of presence in the Asia-Pacific,the OIF office has actively promoted the teaching and use of the language as well as the position and image of France in the region. In thecoming time, it will further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam inteaching the language, promoting economic development, especially insustainable tourism, professional integration, and youth employment.

Themed "Create,innovate, undertake in French”, this year’s International FrancophoneDay honours creativity and innovation within theFrancophone space, particularly among young people. This theme also serves asthe focus of the 19th Francophonie Summit scheduled for Paris in October./.

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
