Vietnam, Cuba enhance archives cooperation

The agreement was reached during the visit to Cuba by Vice Minister of Home Affairs Van Tat Thu which took place from Aug. 1-6.

The agreement is a basis for closer cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba in archives, contributing to consolidating and developing the long-lasting friendship and solidarity between the two countries, said Tran Quoc Thang, Deputy Head of the National Records and Archives Department.

Director of the National Archives of Cuba Marta Ferriol spoke highly of the sharing of experience with Vietnamese experts in archives, document management and personnel training and affirmed determination for further cooperation in the field.

On the occasion, Deputy Minister Thu presented a badge to Nidia Laberrera, former second secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam , for her contributions to the archives work in Vietnam .

The diplomat collected and provided various precious documents and exhibits to display at an exhibition on Vietnam-Cuba relations on the occasion of the 45 th diplomatic ties between the two countries.

While in Cuba , Deputy Minister Thu met with Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment America Santos and attended a conference on the application of new technology on archives./.
