A ceremony to celebrate the 50 thanniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties was held in Ho Chi Minh Cityon November 30.
Attending the event were Le ThanhHai, Party Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal PartyCommittee, Pham Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of the municipal People’sCouncil and Fredesman Gonzalez, Cuba’s Ambassador to Vietnam.
At the ceremony, Thao underlined that over the past three decades, bothcountries have stood side by side in national construction and defence,adding that bilateral relations which are ceaselessly fostered by thetwo Parties, States and peoples, have been promoted and expanded in manyareas.
With many projects in a number of fields,especially in biotechnology, gene technology and infrastructures, Thaosaid she hoped that Cuba will work with Ho Chi Minh City in the areasthat the city is strong in.
Ambassador Gonzalezsaid that cooperative ties between the two Parties, governments andnations, especially in economics, trade, investment, culture, education,healthcare and science and technology, have been raised to match thepolitical relationship between both countries./.
