- Party General Secretary To Lam has underscored the importance of forming a contingent of professional and dedicated staff for the information, education and mass mobilisation work, urging the sector to cultivate them with integrity, strong intellectual capacity, and incisive writing skills, who can act as reliable strategic advisers on Party building in political, ideological, and ethical affairs, as well as political education across society.

Addressing a national conference to review the information, education and mass mobilisation work in 2025 and roll out tasks for 2026 held by the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation in Hanoi on December 19, the Party chief requested the sector to lead in linking theory with practice and to proactively advise the PCC's Politburo and Secretariat on renewing the implementation of resolutions and guidelines of the Party, as well as the State’s laws and policies. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 19 attended a ceremony to simultaneously inaugurate, commence, or technically open 234 key projects and works across the country, during which he emphasised that this move affirms Vietnam’s strong progress in building strategic national infrastructure, and reflects the stature, mettle and intellect of the Vietnamese people and their aspiration to continue conquering new heights.

These projects and works have a combined investment of about 3.4 quadrillion VND (129 billion USD). Read full story

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the ground-breaking ceremony on December 19 for the Red River Landscape Boulevard Axis project in Phu Thuong ward, Hanoi.

The project is among the 234 key works and projects being launched, inaugurated or technically opened simultaneously across 34 cities and provinces nationwide to mark the 14th National Party Congress. Its launch contributes to implementing the country’s strategic development orientations while concretising Hanoi’s development goals in the new period. Read full story

- Vietnam has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) over the past five years, actively addressing emerging migration challenges, according to an official of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

During an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency ahead of the review conference on the five-year implementation of Vietnam’s GCM implementation plan, IOM Chief of Mission Kendra Rinas said IOM commends this leadership, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and remains a dedicated partner in promoting well-managed migration that benefits both individuals and states. - Ground-breaking, inauguration, or technical traffic opening ceremonies for 234 major projects and key works, in celebration of the upcoming 11th National Emulation Congress and 14th National Party Congress, will be simultaneously held across 34 provinces and cities nationwide at 9:00 on December 19.

The Ministry of Construction has reported that among these, there are 148 projects starting construction and 86 projects being inaugurated and technically cleared, including 38 projects from ministries and agencies, 39 from corporations and state-owned enterprises, and 157 managed by local administrations. - Ho Chi Minh City’s wood processing industry aims to achieve 15 billion USD in export revenue by 2035, with 80% of products meeting green standards, heard a meeting held on December 18.

The first congress of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCM City (HAWA), the 2025–2028 tenure, marked HAWA's merger with the Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA) to form a new industry association representing nearly 1,000 member enterprises. - Vietnam Airlines on December 19 operated the first passenger flight to Long Thanh International Airport, marking the beginning of civil aviation operations at Vietnam’s newest and most modern airport.

The flight, coded VN1 and operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, departed from Hanoi and landed at Long Thanh after more than two hours. On board were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and nearly 100 passengers./. Read full story
