Havana (VNA) - A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) led by First Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh paid an official visit to Cuba from November 9-12 and attended the 19th General Assembly of the World Federation of Democratic Youth.

During a meeting with the HCMCYU delegation, First Secretary of Cuba’s Young Communist League National Committee Yuniasky Crespo Baquero said the gratitude and friendship nurtured by generations have connected the two countries’ youths.

She expressed her hope to share experience with the Vietnamese delegation in building youth unions in non-State offices and encouraging young people to get involved in socio-economic development.

Vinh stressed the Vietnamese young generation’s commitment to maintaining the friendship between the two countries’ youths.

He proposed several specific cooperation programmes to intensify delegation exchanges and information sharing, and study cooperation in tourism in order to further tighten ties between the two youth organisations.

During its stay in Cuba, the HCMCYU delegation laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh statue in Havana, and visited several education and scientific research facilities in the country.-VNA
