Vietnam, Czech Republic bolster tourism cooperation

Measures to boost tourism between Vietnam and the Czech Republic were have been discussed at a recent talk jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy and Eurovina Travel in Prague.

Prague (VNA) – Measures to boost tourism between Vietnam and theCzech Republic were have been discussed at a recent talk jointly held by theVietnamese Embassy and Eurovina Travel in Prague.

The November 9 event was attended by representatives from the Association ofCzech Travel Agents, large travel companies in the countries like Cedok,Eximtour, Blue Style, Marco Polo who are members of the famtrips to Vietnam inOctober, and reporters from local media.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan affirmed that Vietnam boastshuge potential and strength to develop tourism thanks to its diversified artculture and cuisine together with a treasure trove of tourist attractionscomprising eight UNESCO world heritage sites.

The Government is working to complete legislative system and set up anappropriate strategy to make tourism become a spearhead economic sector, hesaid, adding that the country welcomed 10 million international visitors in2016 and the figure is expected to surge 25-30 percent to 13 million in 2017.

Tuan stressed that there are large room for Vietnam and the Czech Republic topromote tourism cooperation as the number of Vietnamese arrivals to theEuropean country is still limited due to the Czech Republic’s halt on visaissuance for Vietnamese as well as shortage of direct flights and effectivetourism promotion programmes.

He hoped that members of the Czech famtrips will play a crucial role in bolsteringtourism cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Expressing their impression on their experiences in Vietnam, the delegateslauded Vietnam’s potential to develop tourism with stable socio-economicsituation, competitive tourism costs and alluring tourism products.

Ales Ruzicka from the Czech radio station told Vietnam News Agencycorrespondents that Vietnam is a beautiful and safe country with friendly localpeople and a wide range of specialties.-VNA
