The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Friendship Association jointly hosted a get-together in Hanoi on January 28 to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-DPRK diplomatic ties.
President of the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Association Pham Tat Dong and DPRK Ambassador Ma Chol Su both expressed satisfaction at new developments in the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
They referred to recent visits and contacts between the two countries’ leaders and their renewed determination to attach importance to boosting bilateral friendship and traditional cooperation.
Dong affirmed that friendship associations in both countries will continue to work to further mutual friendship and solidarity.
At the event, the DPRK ambassador said he looked forward to the Vietnamese people recording new achievements in national construction and in efforts to build and strengthen the ASEAN Community in its capacity as ASEAN Chair in 2010.
The get-together was attended by Vice National Assembly Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Pham Xuan Son and Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, among others./.
