Vietnam Fatherland Front enhances ties with Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference

Beijing (VNA) – Do Van Chien, President of theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, held talks with WangHuning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s PoliticalConsultative Conference (CPPCC), in Beijing on July 20, as part of the Vietnamese delegation’s working visit to China.

Chien, who is also Secretary of the CommunistParty of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, expressed his delight at theflourishing relations between the two Parties and the two countries, especiallythe official visits to China by CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong inNovember 2022 and by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in late June 2023.

Vietnam highly treasures and always gives the top priority to its relationswith China, he said, adding that it supports China to develop and bring into play its positive roleto help with regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity.

Chien stressed that the VFF and CPPCC play crucial roles in the politics and society of their respective countries, especiallyin promoting the strength of the whole people as well as mobilising socialforces and domestic and foreign resources for national development.

Their relations have enjoyed encouragingresults and become increasingly practical as seen in frequent visits andmeetings between their leaders, along with the exchanges and cooperationbetween the VFF and CPPCC committees of border localities, he noted.

The visiting official called on his host to continue fosteringties between the VFF and CPPCC, noting that it is necessary to press on witheffectively implementing the two sides’ memorandum of understanding (MoU) oncooperation for 2014 - 2019 that was extended, and discuss to soon sign a newMoU.

He recommended the two sides to maintain high-level mutual visits to enhance political trust and mutual understanding; increase delegation exchangesat the department level to share specialised experience; organise moremeetings, workshops and discussions both in-person and online; and createconditions for provincial and municipal VFF and CPPCC committees to boostcooperation. He also suggested the CPPCC organise training and refreshercourses for VFF personnel in China.

Chien voiced his hope that the two sideswill hold the second friendship exchange between the VFF and the CPPCC, and betweenthe VFF committees of seven Vietnamese border provinces and the CPPCCcommittees of China’s Yunnan province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region thatborders Vietnam in Quang Ninh province of Vietnam in the fourth quarter of2023. The first exchange took place in Kunming city of Yunnan in April 2019.

Wang, who is also member of the Standing Committee of the CommunistParty of China (CPC) Central Committee’s Political Bureau, sharedhis guest’s opinions about the enhancement of the two organisations’ relations.

He said that the CPPCC and the VFF boast close-knit ties, and that the CPPCC isready to intensify their connections.

In the coming time, the two sides should keep promoting thecooperation under their MoU, he noted, adding that the CPPCC will have apositive attitude towards the issues pointed out by the VFF.

Chien said he hoped Wang will continue directing the CPPCCcoordinate more closely with the VFF so as to tighten their links further, thushelping carry out the important common perceptions of the two countries’leaders and unceasingly develop the traditional neighbourliness, friendship,and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.

On this occasion, he also invited Wang to visit Vietnam and work with the VFF Central Committee./.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s working trip to Italy and Türkiye achieved important and comprehensive results at both bilateral and multilateral levels. It not only highlighted a proactive and responsible Vietnamese National Assembly with active and practical contributions to the IPU, but also created new momentum to deepen relations with key partners, including in Europe and the Middle East.

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Parliamentary leaders hail development of Vietnam – Russia ties
