Vietnam, Germany ink judicial cooperation agreement

The documentswere part of the Legal Cooperation Programme on Dialogue on the Rule ofLaw for 2015-2018 on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam byParliamentary State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry of Justiceand Consumer Protection Christian Lange.

The jointstatement effectively extends a previous agreement on legal and judicialcooperation as signed between the Governments of Vietnam and Germany onFebruary 29, 2008.

The key task of the Programme onDialogue on the Rule of Law from 2015 through April 2018 is to developand complete legal frameworks in the fields of criminal and criminalprocedures, civil affairs and civil procedures, and economic andcommercial affairs, as well as ensure law enforcement.

Other agenda items include building capacity for stakeholders,enhancing awareness of laws in society and expanding the participationof all entities and community members in developing and implementinglaws.

The cooperation approaches will include exchanges, training courses, talks, seminars and study tours.

The two sides believe that their cooperation in legal and judicialsectors will serve as an impetus to strengthen their mutual cooperativeties in other key sectors.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1
