Vietnam hands over Berlin ASEAN Committee chairmanship role to Brunei

Berlin (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu Quang Minh, RotatingChairman of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), on December 11 handed over the chairmanshiprole to Brunei after the committee’s seventh meeting.

At the meeting, Minh reviewed outstandingactivities in Vietnam’s chairmanship tenure, affirming that they havecontributed to increasing the grouping’s position, strengthening cohesionbetween ASEAN member states, and asserting Vietnam’s role in this mechanism.

ASEAN is currently an important partner ofthe European Union (EU), including Germany. Cooperation in all fields betweenthe two sides has gained many achievements, benefiting both, and contributingfor peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Talking to Vietnam News Agency correspondentsin Berlin, the diplomat said that Vietnam has been doing its best to contributeto ASEAN, as well as the building process of the ASEAN Community.

The role as the BAC Chairman is rotatedamong ASEAN countries every six months./.

Vietnam, Senegal enhance cooperation across key sectors

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam’s exports to Senegal stood at 43.43 million USD, nearly equalling the total for 2024 (43.91 million USD). Prime Minister hosts welcome ceremony for Thai counterpart

This is the first visit to Vietnam by PM Paetongtarn since she took office, and also the first by a Thai Government leader in 11 years. Additionally, it marks the first joint cabinet meeting between the two countries’ prime ministers in 10 years.
