Sciences (LASS) at a ceremony in capital Vientiane on December 9.
The ceremony was attended by Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath, visiting Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of LASS Chaleun Yiapaoher, and Head of VASS Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, among others.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang said the Library - Documentation Centre and Office Building complex, covering a total land area of 8,583 m2, was built at a cost of 150 billion VND (7 million USD) donated by the Vietnamese government.
On behalf of LASS, Chaleun Yiapaoher thanked the Vietnamese government and people general and the VASS in particular for the donation.
He expressed his hope that these modern facilities will help LASS researchers and scientists work out efficient projects in service of the national development.-VNA
